Chalet Experience

COSY & PEACEFUL

Chalet Le Moulin is perched on a mountain high up above the valley. Surrounded by natural forest, little meadows, we don't have neighbors except maybe the occasional hiker. On a warm day in the summer you might hear distant cowbells or see squirrels hopping amongst the branches. You can have a packed day of activities and then retreat back to curl up on the sofa, with a log fire and a glass of wine.

Wood Warmth

Ever wondered what a read solid log chalet feels like?

Dancing in the happy valley

Hygge

Is there a really good English word for that cosy warm feeling in front of a log fire? A mug of hot choclate to hand, a family board game in progress, the crackle of the open log fire. That moment of warm contentedness. Outside the starry night above the mountains. Inside the chalet's solid wood walls wrap warmly around your family. Hyg-ge; is Norwegian for a mood of coziness and conviviality with a warm feeling of contentment. Its where we get the word hug.

COMFORT and FUN

HOME COOKING

We love family holiday cooking. Especially rustic style, whether outdoors in the Pizza Oven, grilling up a BBQ on the terrace, or the wood fired Norvega stove (from Norway off course!) There is even a chestnut pan by the fire side. Our kitchen is crammed with equipment for making hearty family meals, birthday cakes, and Alpine favourites like raclette and tartiflette or a classic fondue, Also a Pancake/Waffle maker and at least four ways of making coffee for breakfast. We stock herbs & spices, some oils and vinegars too, so you can explore your inner chef while on holiday. But we also recommend our favourite local restaurants and lunchtime stops.

SKI or HIKE

Winter or summer these are the two biggest activities. Skiing : Our village and its twin resorts never fails to impress even the most experienced guests. There are 24 lifts and 60km of beautifully scenic ski runs - suitable for all levels. Equally close by are the huge connected resorts of the Portes du Soleil and the Grand Massif all 15 minutes from the village and offer over 1000km of ski runs. More than can be appreciated in a lifetime. would t so much to say or hiking trails, Hiking: In summer, the Alpine meadows to the mountain tops offer surely the prettiest hiking in the world. In addition to walking maps and books, we have made our own book of favourite walks for you to use. But as John Muir said, "the mountains are calling and I must go..."

We didn't want to leave this peaceful chalet in the heart of nature...
